Inquiry Regarding Letters from Service Line Warranty

Jul 11, 2019

Hello Riverwalk Tucson homeowners,

I received an inquiry getting letters from Service Line Warranty indicating they are working with but not a part of City of Tucson Water Department offering an insurance for coverage of water and sewer lines that are within the financial area of the homeowner’s responsibility.

My recommendations are:

  1. Speak first with your Homeowner’s Insurance Agent to determine where your financial obligations start and end in relation to the pipes for your home and up to the meter and the export of sewer lines related to your home.
  2. Call City of Tucson Water Department and confirm:
    1. City of Tucson Water phone 520-791-3242. Website https://www.tucsonaz.gov/water
    2. If they are aware of Service Line Warranty and have any recommendations.
    3. Your financial responsibility start and stop points for piping of inbound water and outbound sewer.
  3. Research Service Line Warranty company and determine if this is an option that you wish to engage in.
  4. Research any other provider that you might be interested in.  There are many types of Home Maintenance Insurance products available for review that might also include portions of the piping.

The Riverwalk Tucson Homeowners Association or the Board of Directors cannot make a recommendation other than for each homeowner to do research and decision.

Good luck!
