Hello Riverwalk Tucson homeowners,
The Board of Directors and the Property Manager have been consulting numerous association industry experts to determine when and how the pool, spa, and the fitness room can be opened with the continued global threat of Covid-19. The information that is available to the Board is the following:
1). The association pool is considered a semi-public pool by Pima County Health Department with highly restrictive requirements for usage causing financial difficulties due to Covid-19,
2). Pima County Board of Supervisors has not yet changed the classification for association and away from a resort definition,
3). Insurance industry is advising there is no insurance available in the industry if the pool is opened and the community is sued by a user to protect the association, and this would be a serious threat to the financial health of the community,
4). The advice of the association general counsel not to open unless the requirements can be maintained.
Based on this collective data, the pool and the fitness room shall remain closed until further notice.
We know that it is disappointing, but the big picture health of the community, the financial impacts to the whole community, and the inability to meet the rigid requirements are the reason for the continued to closures. Rest assured the Board continues to seek relief where as everyone can use these facilities in some capacity again.
