Hello Riverwalk Tucson homeowners,
Through the years, there have been several water line breaks that City of Tucson Water comes to repair. Just recently, 2 areas have been repaired and the mud piles left behind. A street sweeper is scheduled to come this week.
Additionally, part of the water lines that bring water to each home or building is 1) line to meter the responsibility of the City of Tucson Water Department and 2) past the meter to the home is the responsibility of the home owner. A lot of the pipe material used when the homes were built is a plastic material that lasts typically 8 to 12 years and then starts to either deteriorate or gets overcome by roots of nearby plants. The areas that are the responsibility of the owner can be very expensive to replace.
Therefore, it would be wise for each owner to investigate and consider purchasing a warranty policy that covers the pipe replacement in the event of breaks. You can google home water line insurance policy and then check out the companies that sell this product.
Thank you,
Brenda Goodell, Property Manager
